10 Yard vs. 15 Yard — Which Way to Go

The 10 yard is our smallest size, so the question is usually whether to step up rather than down. If your project touches more than one room, includes a full remodel of a kitchen or bath, or you’re not confident everything will fit in about 3 pickup-truck loads, the 15 yard gives you meaningfully more room without a huge jump in footprint. For straight concrete or dirt specifically, bigger isn’t always better — the 15 yard makes sense for a larger tear-out, but the weight limit still caps things before volume does. What Doesn’t Fit / Weight Considerations

The 1–2 ton weight allowance is generous for general household debris but tight for dense material — a full load of concrete, brick, or dirt can max out the weight limit while the box still looks mostly empty, so tell us upfront if that’s what you’re hauling. Lead-acid batteries can’t go in any size container; Arizona law (A.R.S. § 44-1322) bars them from ordinary landfill disposal, so those need to be taken to a battery retailer or recycler instead. Tires are handled separately too — Arizona’s Waste Tire Fee program routes them through registered collection rather than a regular landfill load. Electronics aren’t barred by a statewide landfill ban in Arizona, but they’re still best kept out of the box and routed through Maricopa County recycling resources.
